My goal in teaching is to create self-sufficient, confident learners. I whatever forum I teach, I attempt to create a student-focused community that encourages creativity and supports students to achieve excellence.

• I believe that a dynamic online classroom should focus on student development by creating a stimulating, challenging, and complex environment that students experience as both rewarding and fair.
• I believe principles of empowerment, building community, respecting personal experience, privileging the individual voice, and reforming the teacher-learner relationship can create positive learning experiences in all teaching-learning environments.
• I believe paying attention to student volition is critical for engaging students in online learning.
• I believe every teaching opportunity is a learning opportunity for me, too. 
• I believe online teaching has made me a better, more reflective, and reflexive teacher.
