Dr.Robert Van Order

Robert Van Order holds the Oliver Carr Chair in Finance and Real Estate at George Washington University. He was Chief Economist of Freddie Mac from 1987 until 2002. He has taught at Purdue, USC, UCLA, Penn, Michigan and Aberdeen Universities, and worked at the Department of Housing and Urban Development where he was Director of the Housing Finance research group. His current research interests are in housing and mortgage markets, credit risk and capital markets, and he has published in a range of academic journals, including The American Economic Review, Econometrica, The Journal of Money Credit and Banking and Real Estate Economics. He has consulted on housing and mortgage markets in countries around the world. He has received the George Bloom Distinguished Service Award in 2007 and the Best paper award in 2017 (coauthor Rose Neng Lai), and the John Quigley Medal for distinguished research, all from the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association,
