Dr.Michael Mann

Michael Mann is an Associate Professor of Geography at George Washington University, where he specializes in geospatial data science, land use, agriculture, and environmental change. With a PhD in Earth & Environment from Boston University, his interdisciplinary research spans remote sensing, wildfire modeling, and spatial epidemiology. He is a leading contributor to open geospatial education through YouthMappers and projects like PyGIS, and has led research funded by USAID, NSF, Meta, and CalFire. His applied work supports resilience and sustainability in the U.S. and the Global South.
