RESEARCH INTERESTS

Bernhard Streitwieser’s research looks comparatively at the impact of globalization on the internationalization of higher education. His three focus areas are:

  • Internationalization & Mobility: research on the internationalization of higher education, on study abroad, and on international student exchange
  • Migration & Education: research on access to higher education for at-risk migrants and refugees, with a geographic focus on Europe (Germany) and North America (the United States)
  • Competition: research on international branch campuses and education hubs
